Momentum: Striving for Excellence
Eakin 4th grade students participate in the year-long program. Momentum class is once a week in the school gymnasium. Two teachers and a piano accompanist engage the students in movement, music, and choreography, using dance to teach self-discipline, teamwork, and excellence through positive reinforcement, encouragement, and engaging children to think creatively. They concentrate on “The Big Four”, which are “do my best, work hard, never give up, and be fit”.
Rock City Community Outreach

During the 2014-2015 school year members of the Rock City Church shared their talents with the Eakin students and staff.  In September members brought in school supplies for each student.  The students were provided a juggling show which held their imagination and attention.  At the end of December,  225 students received new shoes to welcome in the new year.  Rock City members arranged for Brutus the Buckeye and his entourage to come and share the excitement of community togetherness.

During the 2015-2016 school year Eakin and Rock City will again collaborate to continue building a community bridge between home and school.
