Eakin
Elementary School
Academic Brief

Eakin is a Literacy Collaborative Research School. Students are provided learning experiences that deepen their understanding. Students are engaged in deep discussions with one another about a text that they have heard read aloud or one they have read independently. Our schedule provides an uninterrupted 120 minutes of reading instruction. This demonstrates the intentionality of our program to support our students as they develop as successful readers who think critically and apply new knowledge to their lives.

Math instruction focuses on developing our students' ability to think mathematically and apply the skill to novel situations. Eakin staff strive to integrate all content areas to ensure students develop an understanding that the work we do is connected.

Each classroom is equipped with a SmartBoard, 4 computers, and a document camera. These tools provide our students with opportunities to interact with content in multiple manners.
